INGREDIENTS

2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
¼ cup all-purpose flour
teaspoon salt
teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 cups beef broth
3 medium (2-1/4″ to 3″ diameter, raw) potatoes, diced
4 carrot, (7-1/2″)s carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped

 

DIRECTIONS

 

FIRST STEP

Take the meat and place it in a slow cooker. Grab a small mixing bowl; in it mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the meat, stir and coat the meat with the flour mixture. Make sure that all sides of the meat are properly coated with the flour mixture.

SECOND STEP

Grab the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, celery. Add these ingredients to the slow cooker, and stir until every ingredient is well mixed together.

THIRD STEP

With every ingredient inside the slow cooker, mixed and ready, cover it with a lid. Set the setting to Low and cook for 10 to 12 hours. You can also cook the stew in half of the time by setting the slow cooker to High. It should then take 4 to 6 hours to cook. Tip: Slower cooking time results in more tender beef and flavorful dish.
